Hughes Hall Enterprise Award Business Plan Competition 3

Hughes Hall Enterprise Award business plan competition - Pitch Event Round 1. 
Friday the 29th of November, in Hughes Hall College from 17:00 in the Pavillion Room

The event, sponsored by the Hughes Hall Enterprise Society and Cambridge Precision Ltd, is open to teams comprising members from any course of study and at least one member is from Hughes Hall; it is open to undergraduates, postgraduate students, researchers or Alumni. The first pitching event will run on. The six businesses shortlisted to pitch are: 


  • Commerceism. Founder: Pradeep Singh, MSt Entrepreneurship
  • Dinamify. Founder: Maxwell Harding, MSt Entrepreneurship
  • Law Pandas. Founder: Costantinos Kazamias, Ba Law
  • LuuJuu. Founder: Tomasz Bilakiewicz, MSt Entrepreneurship
  • Saola. Co-Founders: Mohammed F.A. Alawami, PhD, Sensor Technology & Freedom-Kai Phillips, PhD, Land Economy
  • Wealth Ninja. Founder: Stuart Heyworth, Exec MBA

The 4 judges for the event will be Richard Hobbs (Chairman, Cambridge Precision), Russell Gould (CEO, Vesta Properties), Lorraine Warne (CEO, Cambridge Games Inner Leadership) and our Chairman, Rupert Pearce-Gould (Cambridge Corporate Consultants).  
 
Please reserve your place by emailing the Society's President, Paolo Casamassima (pc604@cam.ac.uk). Food and drinks will be served. We will also have some free healthy drinks offered by Powdies, a Cambridge Startup finalist in the 2018/19 Hughes Enterprise Competition.

​LIFE AT A STARTUP

  • Have you ever wondered what it is like working at a start-up?
  • Are you considering a career change and thinking of moving to the start-up scene?
  • Do you want to learn the differences between working in academia or in a start-up?
  • Do you want to start your own one?

Life at a Start-up is a seminar designed to answer these and any other question about the life at a start-up and what it takes to be successful. We will have the pleasure to hear about the personal experiences of three guest speakers with a recognized track-record in the start-up scene. They will share advice with us during short presentations. At the end of the seminar, we will have a round table discussion where attendees will be able to pose questions to the panel.

​A CAREER IN CONSULTING AND BANKING​​

  • Are you interested in consulting or banking?
  • How can you best equip yourself to succeed?

In an informal session Dr Anthony Freeling and Laurel Powers-Freeling will share their wealth of knowledge about consulting and banking (and McKinsey in particular), offer an insight into how to succeed in these competitive fields, and be on hand to answer questions.

This event is for any Hughes Hall students who are considering careers in banking or consulting, not only those doing business degrees.
